WHAT IS CHAINSTITCH?
All of our products are created using a Singer 114w103, a vintage, hand-crank embroidery machine. The Singer 114w103 was the first chainstitch machine Singer ever made, starting around 1911. Today, most embroideries are computerized and mass-produced, but this will never compare to the delicate labor of using the freehand crank with the right hand below a Singer 114w103, while directing the embroidery with the left hand above, and controlling the speed with the feet.
WHAT IS THE TURN AROUND TIME?
Once we receive a request for a custom order, we will mock up a draft or sketch and send to you for approval along with a quote for the work. Once approved, we will send you an invoice to pay via our website or Venmo. Once we receive payment we will start working as soon as possible with stitching usually beginning within a week. Depending on how intricate the design is, a piece could take anywhere from 2-4 weeks until completion (not including shipping time).
If a client needs the product for a time-sensitive event, etc., we can accommodate a rush at an additional charge.
WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
All of our products are one-of-a-kind, custom-made using a vintage, hand-cranked embroidery machine. Because of the time that goes into each custom project, we do not accept returns.
HOW CAN I PAY 4 DOTS?
We accept cash, check, venmo, or credit card.
CAN I WASH MY CHAINSTITCHED GARMENT?
Your finished chainstitch piece is generally more delicate than standard embroidered garments and that needs to be taken into consideration when caring for it. For denim, if you need to wash it (yea we know, you might think we're dirty, but we RARELY wash our demin jackets - that's what makes them vintage, right?) Dry cleaning is always a good option. For anything other than denim, wash cold and hang dry or dry flat.
DO YOU PROVIDE THE GARMENT?
We recommend having us add custom embroidery to your own article of clothing. BUT, we do have a few jean jackets, and occasionally other articles of clothing that we keep in stock. All of the jackets that we have in stock are outsourced, we can try to order any size you need, just reach out to us.
